A search was made near Long Quarry at the request of HM Coastguard who had received a report from someone at Labrador Bay who thought they say a rock climber fall near Flagstaff Point - nothing untoward was found, and the call out was treated as a 'false alarm with good intent'.
17/09/17 11:53 Boat hits rocks off the Ness
The volunteer crew received the launch request at 11.48am to attend to a stricken vessel that had become grounded on Ness rocks whilst going out to sea. A person was in the water trying to hold off the boat from the rocks and when the crew arrived at 11.58am they found another vessel trying to pull on the casualty vessels stern to free her from the rocks. The lifeboat crew took over the situation and pulled the person in the water aboard The Two Anne's Teignmouth lifeboat and took the stricken vessel on tow to Polly Steps in Teignmouth.

03/09/17 16:25 A train passenger alerted the Coastguard to a swimmer apparently in difficulties off Coryton Cove - the Coastguard team recovered the casualty before the lifeboat was on scene, and the lifeboat was stood down at 16:44

29/08/17 14:28 The lifeboat was launched to a report that a 14 year male had suffered spinal injuries at Redgate and that the Rescue Helicopter was in attendance. The casualty was then transferred with a 'Helimedico' in attendance to Torquay and a waiting ambulance.

28/08/17 20:32 THE LIFEBOAT WAS RETURNING TO STATION HAVING COMPLETED TWO PREVIOUS INCIDENTS WHEN SOLENT COASTGUARD REPORTED A SIGHTING OF A PARAFLARE WITHIN THE HARBOUR CONFINES. THE CREW CONDUCTED A SEARCH IN THE DOCKS AREA BUT NOTHING UNTOWARD WAS FOUND.
28/08/17 19:45 THE LIFEBOAT WAS RETURNING TO STATION FROM SERVICE WHEN THE COASTGUARDS REQUESTED A RETASK TO LOOK FOR THREE BOYS SPOTTED IN THE VICINITY OF BLACK HEAD/BABBACOMBE. THE BOYS WERE FOUND, TAKEN ABOARD THE LIFEBOAT AND TRANSFERRED TO BABBACOMBE PIER WHERE THEY WERE HANDED OVER TO THE COASTGUARD UNIT. NONE OF THE BOYS WERE INJURED IN ANY WAY
28/08/17 19:16 HMCG ASKED FOR THE TEIGNMOUTH ILB TO BE LAUNCHED TO THE ASSISTANCE OF FOUR TEENAGED GIRLS WHO HAD BEEN CUT OFF BY THE INCOMING TIDE AT LONG QUARRY, THEY HAD KEPT DRY BY CLIMBING ONTO THE BASE OF A SHEER CLIFF. A CG RESPONSE TEAM HAD LOCATED THE CASUALTIES BUT COULD NOT REACH THEM. THE CG TEAM WERE ABLE GUIDE THE ILB TO THE CASUATIES WHO WERE THEN TAKEN ON BOARD AND TRANSFERED TO BABBACOOMBE JETTY AND HANDED OVER TO THE CG RESPONSE TEAM. THE CASUALTIES WERE UNINJURED.
27/08/17 09:16 THE ARANCIA LIFEBOAT WAS LAUNCHED TO A REPORT THAT A PERSON HAD BEEN SPOTTED IN THE WATER NEAR SHALDON BRIDGE. ARRIVING ON SCENE THE CREW DETERMINED THAT THE PERSON HAD BEEN IN THE WATER BUT ONLY TO PUSH HIS DINGY OFF A SAND BANK AND WAS NOW SAFE.

At 04:58 the lifeboat was requested to assist Paramedics and a Coastguard team by evacuating a casualty with a head wound from Hopes Nose to Torquay harbour where an ambulance was waiting to transfer the casualty to hospital.

At 16:38 the lifeboat was on exercise when its attention was brought to a jet-ski that had broken down. The jet-ski owner was taken aboard the lifeboat and the craft was towed to Polly Steps, Teignmouth

Following a report of a swimmer off Babbacombe, the Teignmouth lifeboat was launched to assist the Torbay ALB and a Rescue Helicopter in the search for a reported swimmer, but nothing was found

At 14.37hrs the Teignmouth RNLI Lifeboat was tasked to assist a speed boat which had broken down 3 miles east of Teignmouth. The casualty vessel was located and taken under tow and returned to Polly Steps in Teignmouth Harbour.

AT 15.41hrs The Teignmouth RNLI Lifeboat was tasked to assist a jet ski which had broken down near the Ness rocks.
when the lifeboat arrived on scene the casualty jet ski was being taken under tow by a private vessel and the rider was taken on board the lifeboat and reunited with his craft at Polly Steps in Teignmouth Harbour.

05/08/17 19:52 Assisstance given to rib
At 19.52hrs the Teignmouth RNLI Lifeboat was tasked to assist the crew of large RIB which had broken down in the vicinity of Langstone Rock, Dawlish. The lifeboat located the casualty vessel and towed it back to Teignmouth harbour.

27/07/17 12:45 Lifeboat crew medi-evacuate boy
The volunteer crew medi-evacuated a 9 year old boy on Thursday, 27 July 2017 in the afternoon.

Whilst on an organised coasteering activity the boy sustained injury upon entering the water at Red Gate beach in Babbacombe Bay.
The crew received a launch request at 12.38pm and were soon at the location. The boy was transferred to the Two Annes lifeboat and was taken to Torquay harbour where an ambulance crew received him.

23/07/17 17:50 Lifeboat crew tasked to assist two girls
The Coastguard received a report on Sunday afternoon that two girls were in difficulty in a dinghy which they had tied to a mooring buoy in the river Teign.

The volunteer crew received a request to launch at 5.45pm though the exact location of the girls was not known. The crew launched the Two Annes lifeboat to locate and give assistance though were stood down by the Coastguard shortly after the launch since the casualties were assisted by a third party. The lifeboat and crew remained afloat until the Coastguard Shore Team confirmed that the casualties were safely ashore.

The crew returned to station and the lifeboat was ready for service at 6.21pm.

15/07/17 08:30 Lifeboat crew come to the aid of climber
A male climber who had slipped at Hope’s Nose and sustained a suspected broken leg was transported by the lifeboat crew.
The launch request was received at 8.23am on Saturday, 15 July 2017 and the crew transferred the casualty by stretcher to the lifeboat and transported him to Torquay harbour where paramedics carried out casualty care.

The crew and lifeboat returned safely to station and the lifeboat was refuelled and ready for service at 9.42am.

13/07/17 18:58 Lifeboat crew called out to false alarm
On Thursday, 13 July 2017 the lifeboat crew were requested to launch to a report that a small boat with several people aboard was in difficulty with additional people swimming near the boat.
The volunteer crew launched the Two Annes lifeboat at 6.58pm and were on scene at 7pm.
Upon arrival the lifeboat crew determined that the vessel was being operated by a local company and all was well and they stood down.
The crew and lifeboat returned safely to station.

01/07/17 23:50 The volunteer crew came to the assistance of a person who had fallen in the water on Saturday evening. The launch request was received at 11.44pm following the report of a person falling in the river Teign whilst transferring a dog to a boat in the Shaldon area. Upon arrival the casualty had self-recovered to a nearby slipway and was unharmed.

06/06/17 20:50 Teignmouth lifeboat crew assist in search for missing person

The second request to launch on Tuesday, 6 June 2017 was received at 8.50pm when the crew were tasked to assist with a search for a missing vulnerable person. A thorough search was carried out in the Dawlish area from Langstone rock to Teignmouth pier but nobody was found.

The crew were stood down and returned safely to station at 10.05pm.

06/06/17 16:45 Teignmouth lifeboat crew rescue three people

The volunteer crew rescued three people out of the water off Watcombe beach, Torquay on Tuesday afternoon.

The request to launch was received at 4.36pm on Tuesday, 6 June 2017 and the crew launched the lifeboat at 4.45pm.

It had been reported that a person had swam about 400 metres off shore from Watcombe beach, Torquay and had become in difficulty. The crew recovered the casualty and took her aboard the lifeboat. It was soon apparent that two people with the casualty were also in the water nearby and were beginning to get into difficulty. The lifeboat crew recovered them as well taking them aboard the lifeboat and transported them all to Babbacombe pier where they were handed over to paramedics for assessment.

The crew and lifeboat returned safely to station at 5.30pm

27/05/17 16:13 Teignmouth lifeboat crew respond to report of people on rocks

It was reported by a member of the public that two people had been spotted on rocks to the north of the Parson and Clerk headland. The crew received a request to launch at 4.13pm on 27 May 2017 and a thorough shoreline search was carried out and there was no sign of anybody in difficulty.

The crew and lifeboat returned safely to station at 4.53pm

03/05/17 19.07 Teignmouth lifeboat crew join search for missing person

The lifeboat crew received a request to launch at 7.07pm on Wednesday, 3 May 2017 to join Torbay lifeboat crew in the search for a missing young woman.

The Teignmouth crew were tasked to carry out a shoreline search in the Babbacombe area. The missing woman was found safe ashore and the lifeboat crew returned safely to station at 8.45pm.

02/05/17 10.06 Teignmouth lifeboat in search for dinghy

Teignmouth lifeboat crew were requested to launch at 10.06am on Tuesday, 2 May 2017 in search for a dinghy.

After the launch the crew were informed that the dinghy had been recovered by another vessel but they were tasked by the Coastguard to conduct an extensive search for debris. The volunteer crew found nothing and were stood down and returned safely to station at 11.35am.

Teignmouth lifeboat crew tow broken down vessel

Teignmouth lifeboat crew received a request to launch at 2.36pm to help a casualty aboard a broken down vessel.


The volunteer crew arrived on scene at 2.54pm and took the 5m vessel which had suffered engine failure on tow. The vessel and casualty were taken to Polly Steps, Teignmouth. The crew and lifeboat returned safely to station and were ready for service at 3.22pm.

Teignmouth lifeboat responds to small boat with engine failure

The request to launch was received on Sunday in response to a small motor boat with engine failure. The 18ft motor boat located near the Carey Arms at Babbacombe had two people on board and one person in the water trying to hold the boat off shore. The lifeboat crew took the motor boat on tow and returned it to Torquay with the casualties
The volunteer crew returned safely to station and the lifeboat was ready for service at 21.17

Four jet-ski's in incident

The volunteer lifeboat crew to asked to assist in an incident involving four jet skis off Maidencombe. One jet ski had suffered a fuel explosion and another mechanical failure. Two fellow jet skiers had been trying to assist then made their way to Polly Steps.
Following a shoreline search, the ski with a mechanical fault was found on rocks near Maidencombe and the driver was taken aboard the lifeboat and ski taken on tow. The crew then attended the fire-damaged ski, which had been tied temporarily to a buoy and took it on tow as well. Both skis and casualty were taken to Polly Steps.

Teignmouth lifeboat assists in search for missing person


On Monday evening (13 March 2017) Teignmouth, lifeboat crew received a request to launch at 7.48pm to assist in a search for a missing person.
The Coastal Rescue Team were searching in the Dawlish area and requested the assistance of the lifeboat crew.The missing person was found safe and well and the lifeboat and crew returned to station at 8.25pm.

Search for missing person

HM Coastguard requested the launch of the Teignmouth RNLI lifeboat to search for a missing female who was later found ashore.

The launch request was received at 6.16am and the volunteer crew launched on the Two Annes lifeboat at 6.25am. They were tasked to search for the missing female initially off Dawlish and then extended to Dawlish Warren. The Exmouth lifeboat joined the task and searched the river side of the Warren and river mouth. The casualty was located ashore safe and well at 8.45am and the Teignmouth lifeboat returned to station.
